The Lucky Country

I've been lazy, but i've been busy. Lazy as in i have not updated this blog in quite a few weeks, but busy as i have spread my time between Newcastle and Sydney hanging out with friends and family and a stint up the coast in Byron Bay, all of this whilst 'selling my shit' (ie the stuff i brought back from India to sell in markets here).

Christmas was great and it pretty much started a week or so of drinking (it is merry afterall).
Then had a fab day with my cousins at the Newcastle Boxing Day Races... 20000 young hot things of Newcastle all dressed up looking pretty, but after a few alcoholic beverages, any glamour or class was soon out the window. Then came the New Years period. Just a quiet one on bondi beach, we almost witnessed a riot with the drunk crowd crashing the fence to get in the the 'Shore Thing' party that Basement Jaxx was playing at. Once 12am came, i was soon off to bed. After a good 8hr sleep i was preped for the real New Years celebration - Field Day. 20000 young hot things of Sydney decended upon the domain for an extremely fun day. Except for 1 shower, the weather was perfect, the people were great and the music rocked. Kept that party going until sunrise on the 2nd.
On the 3rd, i caught a ride up the coast to Byron Bay - my favourite place in oz. I stayed at the Art Factory with Jai and Dean, 2 guys that i met last year through Vanilla in Byron Bay. 2 guys that subsequently, i just love! We happen to meet the funniest, coolest and hottest 3 people - Daniel, Jade and Joseph and the 6 of us had a ball for the next 5 days. Of note - a classic hardcore game of 'dare', just ask me what we got up to when u see me, its too much for this blog.
And an afternoon at the Beach Hotel holding on tightly to the mast of our pirtate ship, despite my broken leg - ahoy!
I took the rest of my stuff to sell with me and had great success on the street, selling most of it. Met some cool other people and then did something rather daring on my way home - I hitch hiked. I wanted the adventure and i believe that i have my guardian angel watching over me, so i know it was risky, but i live in a world with as little fear as possible, where i believe in the goodness of man. I want to live in a world where we can all hitch a ride easily. And I did. Thankyou Kerry Smith of Coal Point. He even dropped me off at my door :)

Unfortunately, my camera died recently, so no pics and there won't be for a while either.

So i think that sums up my 6 weeks back home. Its been great to see friends and family. Thankyou Sumo & Megan and Steven for letting me stay at your places, greatly appreciated.

Now, i'll be back in India next week... bring it on!
